Business Letter: From me, To prof

For another assignment I had to compose a business letter to my instructor. The letter had to include an evaluation of an assignment I had completed, and written in third-person format. See this letter below:

Dear Dr. Gregory Zobel:

Upon further review of the instructional guide datasheet completed by Christine Knutson in response to user, “Evie”, three points of distinction have been evaluated for improvement. Those areas for improvement are 1) introductory explanation, 2) substitution of classroom journal, and 3) final discussion format.

In order for future use of Christine’s instructional guide to be successful, the introductory needs to state that if classroom journals are not available, quiz responses need to be recorded onto a loose sheet of notebook paper to be filed in a folder. “Evie” encountered no confusion until confronting this order of content. It is key that students record those questions and answers to the quiz that they answered incorrectly. By recording and writing the correct answers down, students will better remember the bullying statistic, thus expanding their schema.

More so, item #2 listed above addresses the issue of a classroom journal. As previously stated, it is important for students to make and keep a record of those quiz questions on bullying that they answered incorrectly. The journal allows for reflection after the exercise and beyond the classroom. If a physical journal is not available, then the user/student should be shown how to record their questions/answers to a document on the computer or a loose sheet of paper that will be filed into an important folder.

Lastly, in order for synthesis of this lesson to occur and complement the outcome, the user needs to have adequate time to discuss their answers and responses with other cohorts. The initial time allotted of two minutes does not effectively administer enough time to foster synthesis of new ideas nor does it allow for growth of schema and relevant connections to outcomes.

Yours truly,

Christine Knutson
