COLLECTION OF ESSAYS

The following three essays were written in response to the Exit requirements of my graduate program at Western Oregon University. Each piece reflects a point-of-view style essay in which I examine multiple arguments relevant to education today. I thoroughly enjoyed researching and synthesizing these essays. Although the process was rarely straightforward or easy, I feel that my professional development, as well as my personal growth, benefitted largely from this writing task.

Essay 1: Educational Technology Integration Specialist: To Be, or Not to Be

I wrote this point-of-view essay in response to research I conducted while drafting a previous paper that explored the best ways to integrate technology into schools. Technology integration is not only an important topic for educators today, there are strong differing opinions concerning the matter. My essay reflects the on-going arguments--while asserting my own--and analyzes technology integration strategies.

Essay 2: A Shadow of a Doubt: Safer Technology for Education

Reviewing both sides of a heated argument within today's technology field, I investigate the benefits and dangers of using cell phones and WiFi technology in our schools.

Essay 3: Twenty-first Century Privacy: What Does It Mean?

The Fourth Amendment was established over two-hundred years ago. However, the interpretation of privacy has transformed considerably over the past thirty years. Within this essay, I examine the arguments surrounding digital privacy for mature and young generations, alike.
