My Personal Learning Environment

My personal learning environment (PLE) includes various forms of social media so that I may remain informed of emerging technologies and educational technology trends. Listed below are three examples of my PLE. These artifacts demonstrate my engagement with numerous communities, of which represent local and international communities, and corresponds to ISTE Standard 5a.

ISTE Membership

By becoming a member with ISTE, I have received up-to-date information regarding digital-age information as well as learn from other, more knowledgeable peers within this community. ISTE membership has proven a valuable resource for me and I feel confident that I am enhancing my professional scope.

Twitter Profile

I use Twitter use for educational and professional purposes, and this has also been a valuable resource. The Twitter community that I engage with are experts in their field. More so, I receive news and announcements on this platform more quickly than any other community. Lastly, the accounts I follow on Twitter comprise of a full spectrum; local educators to international speakers.

LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn is another type of community I participate in that affords me to remain current on practices and approaches of technology in education. In addition, I am able to monitor the demand and desirablility of ed-tech careers and employers.
